I'm planning to use this ticket to collect individual questions about what I'm calling "Google Sheets representation of CDM v1.0" -- if there's a better name for this representation, please rename this issue! I'll close this issue once we've published CDM v1.0. This ticket covers questions about how data is represented in the CDM_Dictionary_v1 spreadsheet that the DMH team is currently developing and that I'm using to build the LinkML representation of the CRDC-H at https://cancerdhc.github.io/ccdhmodel/.
Once each question has been answered, feel free to check it off here; in most cases, I think it'll be easy to answer the question in a comment, but in some cases we may need to open another issue to figure something out.
[x] I notice that the "SpecimenContainer" worksheet has two entities in it (CDM.SpecimenStorageActivity and CDM.SpecimenContainer). Is this deliberate? Should I assume that there will sometimes be multiple entities in a single sheet? (That's fine by me! Just want to make sure this is deliberate.)
[x] What's the plan for handling datatypes? In the MVPv0 sheet, they are entities that have an additional annotation ("(data type)") to indicate that they should be treated as datatypes; however, this is not the case in the ReferencedDataTypes sheet, which is particularly hard to parse.
If we're only going to have 5-10 data types, it might be worth giving each of them their own sheets; if it's going to be much more than that, it probably makes sense to come up with some way to put them all into a single sheet.
[x] (Low priority) Do we want to version the Google Sheets model in some way? We could add a version number to the sheet name (e.g. "Specimen (v0.1)") or add a "version" column to the spreadsheet and use that for versioning.
I think this is sorted for the v1.0 release at least. Questions around versioning can be handled manually for now, and we can later figure it out in https://github.com/cancerDHC/ccdhmodel/issues/46. Closing.
