Allow virtual MAC address detection overrides #19

This PR moves the default collection of virtual MAC prefixes to the config option, which enables overriding in non-standard virtual environment.

@aieri @rgildein I've made changes to the unittests code to avoid directly calling private methods in class. I would appreciate it if you can review the PR again. Thank you.
