Is there an existing issue for this?

Is the feature related to a problem or existing issue?

I would like to download steam for my arm devixe and check what games works on it.

Describe the solution/feature you'd like.

If there is a steam for arm version I would like to see it in snap store.

The responsibility of ensuring Steam operates on ARM systems primarily lies with Valve. They would need to develop and optimize Steam for the ARM architecture. This is beyond the scope of the packaging team.

I wasn't sure if they have already done that, I understand from you that you checked and it's non-existing. I'm closing this issue, we can open it in case we find valve created packe for arm.

Does this link helps? https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/arm64/steam-installer

Even if Valve and its game do not provide arm64 binaries, it would be extremely cool if the Steam snap did its magic and included box64 and box86 to make games work.

Personally I don’t think it would be worth it to Canonical to dump resources into making the client, and more damningly games work with those utilities when realistically Valve will have to support arm natively eventually anyways.
