Does switching to a more recent snapd version work?

Current Behavior
I used to use apt version's Steam, and I installed some game in my external hard drive, but after I reinstall my Ubuntu ,24.04, I found that I cound not install Steam from APT. So, I install it in Snap instead. But I found I couldn't select where to install the game.
Expected Behavior
Gnome-Files said Not support operation.
Steps To Reproduce
LIBRARY > select a game > INSTALL > INSTALL TO setting > "Local Drive ()" > Add Drive
