After rebooting, I noticed that ubuntu-desktop was not installed but ubuntu-desktop-minimal was.
What was expected?
Maybe this actually makes sense. I am filing an issue to verify since the legacy installer actually keeps ubuntu-desktop installed for the minimal install. It works because all the extra full apps are Recommends and Recommends are not required to be installed.
It does make it more straightforward for people to install ubuntu-desktop to get all those apps instead of having to do something more complicated such as using apt to uninstall the ubuntu-desktop package then promptly reinstall it.
