It would be nice if opening a session fails that instead of returning the user to the home screen, I would see what caused the login to fail (in my case I saw by lxc exec ... that I am getting failed to execute /usr/bin/fish: No such file or directory when a similarly named user was created in the container, home directory mounted, with fish set to be my login shell on the host system with no fish installed in the container yet).
