Who can say no to a lidar sensor? #1

Do you think any improvement with a lidar sensor and image processing?

Hi cenkosman, thank you for reaching out and letting me know of your thoughts on improving the project. However, for the auto-braking function to work, a LIDAR sensor would be too expensive and a bit unnecessary as it offers a much more comprehensive definition of the surroundings (see point clouds). For a project simple as this, a basic (and very cheap) ultrasonic sensor does the job good enough.
