Rewording the principles. #144

Attempting to fix issue #75.

I attempted to reword the principles, adding more prose for the rationale. Also upgraded some SHOULD NOT to MUST NOT because it seems some people thought the SHOULD NOT says the existing approach is OK.

These are just some ideas. I won't be offended if rejected.
