LGBTQ+ History Month Feb 2021 #157

We're not sure of the title yet LGBT(Q+) History Month

The page is a basic schedule. We may just point to pages on the BCB website We may add audio of stuff that could stay long term

We may want to jazz it up with some pictures/logos.

@notshi feel free to make any general adjustments you like - if anyone gets upset- refer them to me! my plan is to drop in issues for you as I find work to be done. Feel free to push it back

@caprenter I've added a banner - let me know if it should be LGBT(Q+) instead.

Thanks very much for the schedule, that's really going to help me create proper banners for each show - provided the presenter have profile photos. Otherwise, I'll let you know if I will be needing them.

Also, could we add a mailto: link to the "Contact us to get involved!" sentence?

Have started adding banners for presenter profiles. I'm using the description info from the broadcast schedule so please let the person inputting those fields that verbosity about the show is much appreciated :}

BTW - I'm trawling through Twitter/Facebook/Instagram for presenters without profiles when I use a recent photo. Hope this is ok!

That all sounds great to me - I'll pass on the request about descriptions.

The month is 'LGBTQ+' - updating ticket titles to reflect. I've also: Updated the page title and the slug Updated the custom HTML widget title Update copy where I've seen it Updated a link from the widget

@caprenter Some questions below:

  1. Audio is currently embedded only after live & repeat broadcasts. The Equity Show is a special case because they have their own mixcloud account. Should the link be to the listen again page instead?

  2. There are currently 5 special programmes and 2 daily shows listed. Will there be more?

In answer to the questions.

1) Embedding audio any time is fine - in general we try to stick to 'after first broadcast'. But also it depends on what's practical - no-one will be upset if it goes out earlier. Before repeats is fine. I guess in general you are grabbing it from the listen again audio which is fine. Mixcloud embed is also good as far as I'm concerned. I guess there's pros and cons to all of these decisions, but in terms of 'what's best?' there's very little to choose from! For science week I created listen again links to broadcasts to save time - but at the expense that all those links will now be broken. I'm ok with that!

2) I'm pretty sure that is more or less all of it. I think there may be one or two more shows, but these are likely to be ones that may or may not be made.

Thanks for this - apologies - I was off yesterday. I take it, you sourced pretty much everything yourself? Does that work for you? What would make it better? (I can try to get people to 'forward think', but retrospective will do) I think sticking to a once a week, time limited task is probably a good thing. Only doing what you can in a given time - it doesn't have to be 'complete' on the resources we (you!) have!

Yup, I sourced most of the things apart from the audio that Mary sent over but this document is definitely a life saver and has made it much easier for me, thank you very much!

I'll chase this - we can add next week, or I might add it

* There's a note by JK about Interviews that I'm not completely sure about in terms of context.

I think it's just a note - well ignored!

* I did not add the Feb 25 to be confirmed programme to the web page.

No worries. I'll also try to get some clarity on that.

I don't think there is all that much that has been updated, but will check again later. Version history is probably the best way to see changes.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I believe the audio for the missing broadcast has been sent via Joe and we transfer - no rush. Task for Monday if you don't mind.

I added the audio Joe sent as soon as I saw it. I appreciate that there's no rush but wanted the audio up before the history month was over as it didn't seem fair otherwise.
