5 years ago Most of the posts/articles on the Home or listing pages will be links to other sites. They will have a short description and the link. There is no real need to click to the page.
If the default without a tag were to show the entire post, it would save the visitor a click.
Is this easier to implement?
When not set, post excerpt fail.
On home, when no excerpt is found, we show truncated text. But sometimes truncation is made in th middle of an html tag.
