Code is undocumented

I see some scattered documentation here and there, but the code is largly 
lacking comments.

I know that some people are against commenting code, so if I stumbled on some 
of those people, then my apologies.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Look in the code base with the intent to learn and/or contribute

If each developer takes a couple minutes a day to quickly through in at least a 
description of just a couple functions, this task is considerably less daunting.
