Sorry - using BTstack GPS1.7.4

thanks for the log. In the log, the connection is disconnected from the iOS
side. This means it was either a user action ('disconect') or BTstack GPS got
stopped/killed. Could you install CrashReporter and see if you get a crash
report? and/or, install syslogd and see if it mentions why it stopped. I have
no idea why having power or not would make a difference.

Thanks for the response. I installed CrashReporter last Tuesday - and of
course, it hasn't crashed since I did that - I guess a watched ipod never
crashes :). I will send a crash report if and when it crashes again. The
circumstances of it crashing (and it was an every day occurrence) was I would
disconnect it from power and put it in my pocket for our morning walk. It
would crash anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour after being put in my pocket.

Bluetooth disconnected this morning; no crash report was generated and
syslogviewer doesn't show anything either. I will continue to monitor.

I have had several other disconnects from the gps receiver and no crash logs
were generated. I saw in another thread where you plan (or at least hope) to
at some time have an automatic reconnect feature that will restart the btstack
and connect automatically to the last used gps device; that would solve my
issue, as the gps device stays running without being connected to a bluetooth
device for about 5 min. I will continue to see if I can get a crash report,
but am not optimistic.

Hi. if you have a disconnect, but no crash, please upload the hci_dump.pklg. In
this case, there should be a disconnect that is generated from the Bluetooth
module itself (then I cannot do much).
The reconnect is a bit tricky. Trying a single reconnect actually could help in
some cases. In the general case, the Bluetooth GPS isn't around anymore and we
don't know when it will come back.

Thanks - I will do so. I have not been having blutooth gps generate the
hci_dump.pklg, but will restart. For whatever reason, bluteooth gps has not
been disconnecting like it was - I think maybe only 3 times in the 3 weeks
since I first posted; prior to that it was an almost daily occurrence. However,
the dump package I uploaded initially was from a disconnect typical of what I
was experiencing, so I wouldn't expect anything different. I understand the
difficulties of an automatic reconnect when the bluetooth device has left the
range of the ipod; however, in cases like mine, it could work.
