I think this is what you're saying, but could treat this as net-imports and then allow it to be positive or negative (to reflect a case of net-exports)

Depending on granularity, we might want to keep both import AND export, to be able to provide more information than just the net import.
For example, if a PSR imports 2 MWh in the first quarter of an hour and exports 8 in the remainder of the hour, we might still want to know that import happened and thereby need more details than just a -6 MWh net import. Given the discrepancy between grid and local production carbon intensity, that may have an impact that we simply don't want to neglect.

If the situation Pierre describes happens, the grid operator should report the data at the finer granularity, not the hourly level.
