Summary

The Sketch symbol assets available for the "Select" component open state in the Carbon Design System (Gray 10 theme) uses a multi-line text layer for all options.

Justification

This is not flexible as it doesn't allow categorized/nested lists and there is no way to show other than the 1st item as selected.

Desired UX and success metrics

Is there an option for the Sketch symbol open state to be constructed in a way to allow a designer to easily create examples of a variety of menu states for the Select component?

Available extra resources

As part of the IBM TRIRIGA modernization, we created a set of Sketch symbol assets based on the Carbon example, which provide a way to construct a variety of menu states for the Select component.

Sketch is no longer a priority design tool for IBM and we are closing all feature updates as not planned.
