The Table of contents – horizontal underwent a visual overhaul in v2. The selection state was updated, styles such as border were changed, and the @md and @sm functionality revamped to align with Carbon tag updates.

v2 updates

• [x] Updated color and type tokens to Carbon v11
• [x] Bottom border for the full width ToC container instead of shadow
• [x] Selected state updated
• [x] Recommended max of seven menu items, or down to three. User should be able to show/hide up to seven

Known bug: when set to Focus state, the focus will now fully show through the surrounding border
