AAR size increased from 2.63 MB to 12 MB in release 5.1.0 #221

Issue description

When updating card.io from an old 3.x release to 5.5.1 I noticed that our APK nearly doubled in size from 11MB to 21MB. This increase is due to the card.io dependency:

card.io-5.0.0.aar 2.63 MB
card.io-5.1.0.aar 12 MB
card.io-5.5.1.aar 12.2 MB

Any idea what might have caused such a significant increase?
