Incorrect language detection #320

The language for the snippet below is detected as English which I do not quite understand because most words are in green (Czech).

Czech should win but it doesn't. It's enough to delete "ready" from the text and it's detected as Czech.

Can you paste the text from the example because I have tried to write in Czech but it is really hard for me. I wasn't able to write the y with the tick on top made only ÿ 😄

It is very annoying, that I can not preset a correction language. I do not write in German only (preset of my OS), therefore, english texts – like this – are wrongly "corrected".

To keep it smart and simple, I would prefer a preference setting, to add a list of possible languages to the properties drop down or a shortcut to switch thru them – with a notification in the footer (EN, DE, ES, …).

Hello, I am french and in Caret 3.4.6, it’s still English that is detected for spelling (well, I hope v4.0 will fix this).

Hi @Li-An,

Yes, it fixes it. We have made spellchecker work the same way every native macOS app works.

I’m on Win 10 64 bits. But after writing this comment and checked my official language and saving some setting, magically french was discovered. Quite strange but it works for the moment.
