Caret Stable: Harfbuzz version too old #22

This appeared on Ubuntu 20.04: (Caret:4832): Pango-ERROR **: 20:00:21.639: Harfbuzz version too old (1.3.1)

So, Caret, which I bought a license for some time ago, does not work on recent Ubuntu versions, as it seems. Or do I need to install any additional stuff to make it work? Anyway, you spoke of creating a completely new Markdown editor, but is there a release date? It would be great if we would not have to wait much longer.

Thank you for reporting this. Did you try Caret Beta in order to see if the problem exists there?

The new app is available at http://nota.md but we have only a Mac version for now. You can vote for a Linux app here.

Caret Beta unfortunately refuses to run since Ubuntu 18.04, see https://github.com/careteditor/releases-beta/issues/14.

I don’t understand how/where I can vote for a Linux app, but I wrote a comment. Thanks for the information though, and I must say, Nota looks very promising so far.
