Caret fails to append `.md` file extension #4

When I create a new file in the sidebar that contains a period, Caret fails to append the .md file extension to the end of the file name.

For example: 0. Introduction would fail whereas Introduction will not.

Glad to see this is a bug and not a feature. 😄

This is now fixed in our internal build. The next beta release will include the fix.
