We will fix that. Thanks for reporting.
I just noticed that It has been fixed in rc19. Thanks!
Hmm, strange. We didn't fix that in the latest update. Are you sure?
Strange, in deed. But I found out the following:
While I opened this issue, I worked on my PC, which I use for private purposes. While I closed the issue, I worked on my first PC which I use for business purposes (home office), where the sidebar did not hide the content of the editor. – The point is: On the privately used computer, I had changed the line width in the preferences of Caret from 56 to 76 characters. That was a bit too much – 72 as maximum works in my case. The possible width seems to depend on the screen solution (but I am not sure), maybe also on certain system preferences.
So, the question is: Is it really a bug? Anyway, could it be possible to program the sidebar in a way that it does not hide the content? Or could it be folded and unfolded? Just an idea …
Yes. This is indeed a bug we will fix in the next release. The sidebar shouldn't hide the content.
We fixed this and released a new version of Caret.
Closing this issue. Thanks for all the information provided.
Wow, that’s a fast bugfix, thanks! I tested rc20, and I can confirm that everything’s fine now. And I am glad my informations were helpful.
When I switch to View -> Show Preview and View -> Show Outline, the Outline bar on the left is partly hidden by the editor area. I have a Full HD monitor (1920 by 1080 pixels).
