improve apt install on ubuntu

The raspi header packages are named differently on ubuntu than raspian, leading to failure to install cmake, et. al. which leads to confusing errors later in the build.

remove cat | grep idiom, rather grep directly on the file

Do you have the smi time outs on ubuntu, too ?

such a meaningful fix for ubuntu builds but the maintainer @meexmachina doesn't even look at this repo anymore

@rush0815 I have not fully gotten everything setup yet. I am time constrained, but I would like to get my board running and contribute more to this repo. @meexmachina has done a really amazing job with the engineering of both the hardware and software, and I hope to learn as much as I can!
