Google Now uses top Microphone vs. bottom microphone

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.launch Google now voice search
2.cover top microphone and speak into bottom mic
3.when it times out, start a new voice search by tapping the microphone and 
covering the bottom mic and talking into the top mic.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Notice that the search will complete when the bottom mic is covered and you 
speak into the top mic

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
