Google Now hotword detection not working IN Google Now #205

NOTE: Yes, this issue exists IN Google Now WHILE Google Now is running and on 
screen.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter Google Now via long menu press OR via Google icon
2. (AFTER ensuring hotword detection enabled) saying Google does nothing
3. Looking at the screen indicates hotword detection is NOT on - search box 
only says "Search" inside, as opposed to "Search or say Google"
4. Pressing the microphone button DOES allow voice input to work.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Enable hotword detection setting should actually work

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- Samsung Galaxy Note II (stock, T-Mobile, latest updates and latest Google 
Search updates) (SGH-T889)
- Latest Google Search/Now installed a day ago. 
- Android 4.1.1
- Baseband version: T889UVALL4
- Kernel Version 3.0.31-598701 se.infra@SEP-71 #1
  SMP PREEMPT Sat Jan 5 19:34:13 KST 2013
- Build Number: JRO03C.T889UVALL4

Steps taken:
- Restarted phone
- Went into settings via Google Now and via Search and Google icon and: 
-- verified Hotword detection was enabled
-- deactivated Hotword detection
-- exited app
-- re-entered app and RE enabled hotword detection
-- (various combinations of the above in Search and Now)

- With the checkbox showing hotword detection is enabled, results as above.
- With the checkbox showing hotword detection is DISabled, results as expected 
(identical to above... "Search" only in the search box and no hotword 
detection).
