As in the title, my media keys do nothing. I have tried it on Google Play Music, Pandora, and YouTube.

Version and hardware information:

Hope this helps! I've been switching from Chrome to Firefox, and am looking for a way to control my music players, and would love to use your add-on if possible.

Did you try the compatibility option for this add-on? It's friendlier with keyboard applications that interfere with how Windows handles media keys.

fsufitch commented 8 years ago

Where is the compatibility option? I don't remember seeing it when I poked around the options menu. (I am not at my computer to try it out right now)

Sorry, that didn't work :(

Any other ways I can help debug it?

fsufitch commented 8 years ago

Some more diagnostic input: It looks like the "Automatically play/pause media" functionality is working properly. I closed a YouTube video and my Pandora in another tab started playing immediately. So... it really looks like it's the media keys that are broken?

carlin-q-scott commented 8 years ago

I'm sorry to hear that that didn't help with the issue. We're looking into a modification for grabbing media keys on Windows that may be more compatible with keyboard software but I have no idea if it'll improve things.

Do you have any way to to disable the software that came with your keyboard or do you rely heavily on it?

fsufitch commented 8 years ago

I am not using any software that came with the keyboard, though. Das Keyboard does not require any special software.

I may have some left-over stuff installed from my previous keyboard, which was a Razer, which did use custom software (for macros and such). I will double check that tonight when I'm home and see if removing that makes the add-on work.

Thanks for your effort looking into this! I really appreciate it.
