VerbNet uses Stimulus for "amuse".
He amused me with a silly story.
The group likes Stimulus~Instrument
Communication is probably present but as a means of applying/conveying the instrument (the story).
Need to add to English guidelines
(Maybe some uses of "amuse" focus more on keeping busy and less on mental state of amusement. But this is a subtle distinction.)
Needs to be changed in the data alongside guidelines: http://www.xposition.org/ex/18106/
Looks a little instrument-y, but it doesn't seem to mean "use balderdash to amuse myself" so much as something more like "concern myself with balderdash" or "tolerate balderdash". Topic? Theme?
