"to meet" #143

Encountered in Hindi (verb mulāqāt honā "a meeting to take place", with complement in comitative case "person with whom meeting happens"). English equivalent "x met WITH y".

In the context we looked at it, the meeting takes place involuntarily with no agency of the participants. Currently we're labelling both of the participants Agents, but that doesn't make sense since neither of them do anything or are volitional (but that's a force dynamics issue). Theme also seems strange since nothing acts on either of them?

Raises the question of how to annotate "I bumped INTO him at the mall."

Is this roughly like "encounter"?

Yes!
