ComparisonRef is defined as: "The reference point in an explicit comparison (or contrast), i.e., an expression indicating that something is similar/analogous to, different from, or the same as something else." Should we add: or an alternative to something else?
Alternatives—whether alternatives that someone is choosing among, or something alternative that may happen—involve some notion of contrast. I don't see much downside to merging InsteadOf in with ComparisonRef.
DELETE InsteadOf
, merge with ComparionRef

Currently, "prefer X over Y" is ComparisonRef~>Locus. Plain THAN is always ComparisonRef; MWE RATHER_THAN is always InsteadOf.
What about "would rather X than Y" = 'prefer X over Y’?
Should we just merge InsteadOf with ComparisonRef, and say ComparisonRef includes alternatives??? Or move preference scenes to InsteadOf?
