Describe the solution you'd like that described in the paper above, but with a framework for alternatives maybe

I'm a bit skeptical about automatizing this. This can save time for sure during the beamtime to have a quick look at the data. But for the fine analysis one would have to do it manually anyway afterwards.

Cohere offers it as one of the choices. The code for auto de-alien is here:https://github.com/AdvancedPhotonSource/cohere-scripts/blob/main/scripts/alien_tools.py

Not in the scope of that package. Refer to the tool already available in Cohere.
