@carolrmc just sent me this email: https://www.olx.pt/anuncio/vendo-hyundai-matrix-IDBrSXx.html#df1ff5e801
Mom is proposing buying the same car [again] as she already has. 😕
3hours drive: https://goo.gl/maps/HU6mFEUy44p
1h50 for us: https://goo.gl/maps/yeEb9ENyKN52
If it's what @carolrmc wants, fair enough. I would have got something much better.

@carolrmc how often (number of times per month) on average do you drive more than 200kms per day/journey?
another way of rephrasing the question: if you were to estimate, as a percentage, how many journeys per year do you undertake a round-trip of more than 200kms? e.g: "5% of round-trip journeys are more than 200kms" (Considering that most journeys are to school, the shops, meeting, Sintra/Janas or Lisbon)
@carolrmc bought her Hyundai Matrix (second hand1) from a Used Car Dealer in
{YEAR}
but the car was originally registered in 2002.The car has served them well for the past few years:
The car has reached 200K km and is no longer as reliable as it once was.
Last weekend we visited the same car dealer where @carolrmc has purchased both her last two cars. @carolrmc mentioned interest in a 7-seater to the Car Salesman and he suggested the Kia Carens
List of currently available Kia Carens on Portugal's biggest car listing website: There is no such thing as a "cheap" one. The ones with the lowest prices are already 10 years old and have over 160k kms ... This would only barely be an "upgrade".
Mid-priced example: https://www.standvirtual.com/anuncio/kia-carens-2-0-cdri-7lug-140-cv-5p-ID8LTJFx.html For sale by: "EstorilCar" Rua Professor Vitorino Nemésio 55 Loja Galiza., 2765-362 Cascais Spec: (2L Engine is of particular note. it will consume more fuel than the Matrix which is 1.5L)
1Our family has always bought "Second Hand" or "Used" cars.
