STYLE: Improve style across miscellaneous episode files

Improve style across miscellaneous episode files:

Remove trailing whitespaces in different places of the introduction and preprocessing Markdown files.
Make the backslash dwell at the appropriate place of the caption line in the introduction episode Markdown file.
Improve alt texts across miscellaneous figures so that they are more descriptive of the picture.
Rename the diffusion directions picture: remove an unnecessary/inconsequential "_new" tail from the name.
Fix a syntax error: remove a duplicated word.
