Test run @ UW-Madison in May. Seeking schedule recommendations.

We're planning to run this workshop at UW-Madison on May 30 - June 1st, 9am-12:30pm CT. We're padding the schedule with a few extra hours (10.5 hrs total) just in case it's needed for intro/closing slides and occasional 10-min breaks. Does that sound like a reasonable schedule to those who have taught this before?

Great to hear that you will run the deep learning workshop. So you will teach the workshop in 3 mornings? That is quite tight in my opinion. We usually teach it in 2 full days or 4 mornings, you can have a look at our schedule here.

You could skip the last episode on conv nets, or maybe give a short demo of a conv net in action instead of doing the full episode with live coding.

It would be great if you could give us some feedback on how it went! That would help us get this lesson into the carpentries lab. Also, we are always welcoming contributions. #nopressure. 😄

Thanks @svenvanderburg for the guidance and example schedule. I was able to tack on an extra 30 minutes to each day — we'll see if we can get through all of conv nets. I will definitely be in touch with feedback (and possibly some contributions!) after the workshop!
