Meetings or workshops using Microsoft Teams #35

Some of us might need to use Microsoft Teams meetings during a meeting or workshop. It has been observed that some people could not join the meeting as well as lost view of the shared screen or audio during the event.

Observed issues were

Workarounds for joining the meeting: -requesting for both hyperlinked meeting link text as well as plaintext link to join the meeting as something the link gets changed by the calendar program or email client

Similarly organizers may wish to share both hyperlinked meeting link text as well as plaintext link to join the meeting.

For participant losing shared screen/audio, rejoining the meeting might help.

For instructors losing audio, it has been seen Windows/MS Teams kept auto-adjusting the volume to a level where the instructor was barely audible. It might be useful to check:

This solution has a very poor user experience on Linux.

annajiat commented 3 years ago

Thank you @bkmgit for the feedback on user experience on Linux.

It may also be noted that 3 instructors faced problems in connecting to the meeting using MS teams during the same workshop and were successful in connecting at different times (1-shortly later, 2-some time later and 3-next day after hours of trying).

The instructor facing the audio issue was the 4th instructor on Windows.

So, alternatives meeting tools (see #34) may be recommended until good user experience is observed in different OS.
