We should also consider how much of what we have should be lesson material vs (inline) instructor notes.

Yesterday in our training one of the participants reminded us that it's important not to use the expression "preferred pronouns" because it's not a preference, but instead is a part of identity. They shared this external link as well: https://uwm.edu/lgbtrc/support/gender-pronouns/
If you're updating the instructor notes about pronoun usage, I think it would be helpful to include a statement along the lines of "When asking participants to introduce themselves, consider asking them to share their name, pronouns (and if there's a time that's best NOT to use them) and institutional affiliation. Mention that if anyone doesn't want to share their pronouns, that's completely fine, we will refer to people by their name instead."
