Document Current MOU offerings, templates and recommendations for further MOU Collaborations #11

Goal 5 of The Carpentries Strategic Plan reads: Strengthen organisational structure and capacity to be strategic and responsive.

Two objectives under this goal are:

  1. Pursue grant opportunities and explore ways to manage and diversify our revenue streams, including pursuing corporate sponsorships, that are aligned with our values and priorities.
  2. Develop opportunities for more communities to participate in workshops and Memberships through programs that plan for and offset associated costs.

In order to pursue grant opportunities and develop more opportunities for community participation through membership, it is important for us to take inventory of the current partnerships and agreements we have. Therefore, in Q22020 (April - June) the Business Team will document our current Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and develop recommendations for further MOU collaborations.

We have put together a document outlining all of our current and expired MOUs. As The Business Team is learning more about the challenges of our current volunteer roles from a taxation perspective, we do not have a list of potential MOUs as of yet. We are working with CI to understand the implications of doing business internationally and working with volunteers. From there we will develop a list of recommendations for further MOUs. We do have an MOU wish list readily available.
