8 months ago It looks like Pandoc v3 creates figure captions as divs of class .figcaption, where before it was producing figcaption elements. I have opened #130 to apply the styling to the class instead of the element.
Figure captions used to appear in a styled box, but now appear as unstyled text below the image. I was observing this phenomenon on my local builds for a while, so I believe this is related to the adoption of pandoc version 3. I will explore further...
