Visual Strain: Code Block Labels #49

Open kekoziar opened 1 year ago

I'm checking the repo I maintain (git novice) after transitioning to the workbench, and notice significant visual strain when reading the bash input and output, because the text is on the left side, while the label is on the right. My eyes are constantly scanning back and forth, and it's actually making me nauseated.

I highly recommend making the label left justified so it's easier to read.

Thanks for informing us of this accessibility issue. Accessibility was a key consideration with the transition to the new template. While we reviewed many issues during the design phase and subsequent testing period, we know additional issues may come up after launch.

It will require time for us to assess along with other issues that may emerge now that the transition is complete. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Here are some resources which indicate left-to-right languages should be left justified. While they only explicitly state for labels on forms that left-to-right languages should have labels on the left side, they model having labels and headers for text blocks on the left side.

Thank you for the resources. I will use these when consulting with @elichad and @brynnelliott on forward steps.
