Motion to close all `v0.5.x` issue #293

Concerning the couple issues left with the v0.5.x tag, we've solved these in the latest release v1.0.x. I think we should close out the rest and drop support for the previous version.

I'd like to release v0.5.1 which is currently the v0.5.x branch. I need someone, besides myself, to take a look at the code that's been merged into that branch, test it and give the :ok: to cut a new release. :smile:
