Has this ported over to android yet? if not I might start working on it. I built a similar simulator for the tello but this is way better and id like to contribute to it. see my implementation at https://github.com/adamdarko/AirSimTello

the UI is entirely inspector based. If someone wanted to make an in game UI this could be ported

ok cool. The main reason I stopped developing this application is how unreliable the tello tracking is. Its pretty much a crapshoot if the tracking will be accurate or not. My fingers are crossed for a Tello 2 with far more reliable tracking.

have you worked on anything similar for a mavic air?

No but I do own one. Two problems with developing for that though. Its much louder than the tello, and the tello is already annoying to everyone in my apartment.

Second, I don't really mind the tello crashing into the wall when a PID tuning goes rogue, the mavic is another story.

danammeansbear commented 4 years ago

those are valid points, the mavic is pretty expensive to crash into a wall.

Hi! There is a Tello with great tracking already: it is the Tello 'EDU'. I purchased both the Tello and the Tello EDU and the difference between the two is huge. The Tello is out of control: keeps moving when one commands it to stay still. ...but the EDU is very stable. Search also video comparisons between the two on YouTube. Especially when the light in the environment is not too low and if there is a minimum of irregular pattern on the floor. (...and after having updated the firmware using the official Tello phone app). There is also a newer Tello, which I do not have, and might maybe be even more stable: Robomaster TT Tello Talent.
