Inquiry about the Availability of "--collect-metrics" Argument in ROS2 #1792

I've been exploring the features of ROS2 Cartographer and recently came across an argument named --collect-metrics mentioned in Issue #1258. However, upon trying to use this argument, I couldn't find it in the codebase or the documentation.

I am writing to inquire about the current status of the --collect-metrics argument. Is it available in the current version of ROS2 Cartographer?

If the argument has undergone changes or has been deprecated, I'm interested in understanding the reasoning behind it and whether there are alternative ways to achieve similar functionality.

Could you kindly provide some clarity on this matter? Your assistance would be incredibly valuable in helping me understand the capabilities of ROS2 Cartographer better.

I used Cartographer, version available at this link, and built it from source. Now I’m able to obtain metrics.
