@johanneshiry @ckittl @sebastian-peter @JustinPihony @zishanbilal @qux42 :
Dear (commit) contributors: Pardon the "mass tagging" here -- no rush of course and probably this may be irrelevant to some of you already, but any comments/reactions would be great. Though my time for this project continues to be rather scarce unfortunately, any input would help take some decisions moving forward. Thanks in advance and best regards.
Just to update the entry here: version bumped to 1.0.0 and already released -- no breaking changes.
Just an umbrella entry with the overall goal of looking into a v1.0.0 and beyond.
I've had a preliminary branch for this purpose but with no much time to advance it.
Just in terms of the strategy regarding versioning:
should a first 1.0.x just consolidate what's been in place in the set of "asymptotic" 0.99* releases?
If so, then look into 1.1+. (or perhaps even 2.) to depart from that line?
Or, just start 1.0.* even if breaking compatibility?
(I'm kind of inclined to the 1.0.0 consolidation with no breaking changes.)
For the future:

was conceived primarily as a command line program, the fact is that it has also been used as a library out there. I suppose those users are just happy calling themain
