Double character junk instead of Hungarian letters #29

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. General / Title Language: Eredeti (Magyar)
2. Update library
(I have a script which puts all the port.hu URLs into<moviefilename>.nfo)
3. Films show up like: (the double letters are a lot more special characters,
just could not copy it here)
- PapArkutyAjk (Papírkutyák)
- "La ProphActie les GRenouilles" (Özönvíz)
- "La citAc des enfants perdus" (Elveszett gyerekek városa)
- Csak semmi pAinik (Csak semmi pánik)
- Indul a bakterhAjz (Indul a bakterház)
- De grA~ne slagtere" (Zöld hentesek)
- "TenkA> no shiro Rapyuta" (Laputa - Az égi palota)
The Hungarian part in parenthesis does have the right accented Hungarian
letters.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Proper Hungarian, French, Danish, Japanese etc. letters in the main title.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
dpkg -s xbmc
Version: 2:12.2~git20130502.1706-frodo-0oneiric
uname -a
Linux XBMCserver 3.0.0-32-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 21 15:51:26 UTC 2013
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

This issue cannot be fixed. XBMC cannot handle multiple character encoding in
the same buffer. Workaround: don't use this option. Storing multiple titles
within the same field is bad idea anyway. I only added this, because the demand
was high.
