Playing with cataclysmbn-735-win64-tiles

My character just slept in the starting shelter dressed and covered by a blanket and died in a few hours to cold.

As sleeping/reading still is too slow in comparison to very old cdda versions, i was browsing around the internet to kill time while i had my character sleeping in the starting shelter.

When i checked back the bright nights game, my character had died ?

checking the memorial file, the last moments were filled with 0143.53 Your mouth hurts! 0144.11 Your head hurts! 0147.05 Your head hurts! x 2 0147.16 Your head hurts! 0152.20 Your head hurts! 0153.23 Your head hurts! 0155.02 Your head hurts! x 2 0155.02 Your limb breaks!

It struck me odd as i was certain my character was dressed enough to survive a night, in the starting shelter, this is what my character was wearing when he died :

There's an issue with cold status causing painkiller effect, which prevents waking up from damage. Recently, average temperature was lowered by 5C, which could make some earlier clothing setups inadequate.

(i was wearing the unpacked shelter blanket on top just in case)

When actually worn, it doesn't heat up your head. Sleeping on it is more effective.

Ah thanks, i wasn't aware of the blanket being less effective when worn.

update, i slept on the shelter underground (as it seems to be slightly less cold. I was sleeping on an unpacked shelter blanket + a pillow on a bench. I was wearing the following as i looted a few things to prepare for the cold test pair of socks boxer shorts pair of glove liners long underwear top jeans long sleeved shirt cargo pants pair of boots golf cap radiation badge pair of army winter gloves rain coat knit scarf pair of safety glass winter coat emergency blanket messenger bag messenger bag headlamp leather backpack pair of elbow pad

And during the night i manually stopped as i started to see the message "torso hurt" , i then removed the emergency blanket i was wearing (not the one i was sleeping on). and i could end my night without problem. Still it looks like an awfull lot of things on my character to sleep with.
