The problem is in defining what is unnecessary.
Here are a few I ran into as a normal part of gameplay. I'm happy to add them as I find more. Essentially, anything where a potential outcome is nothing happening. There could be an exception on safety-specific stuff like walking into a pit, of course.
maybe all the things that have an auto option at least?

This game has a lot of keystrokes, I don't think anyone disputes that. One of the settings I saw previously was 'Force Y/N in prompts', which I thought to mean require a yes or no in prompts. What it really meant was only capitalisation, you still have y/n in many, many, MANY prompts. This should be removed.
Describe the solution you'd like
Change the capitalisation setting to instead read as 'Require y/n confirmation for actions'.
If enabled, this would keep the same current functionality where you have to confirm choices like picking a pine tree, or butchering a corpse, etc. with a y/n prompt.
If disabled, however, I would like for all unnecessary prompts to be skipped. What I consider an unnecessary prompt is anything where the choice is always 'do the thing I want to do, or cancel', which is typically a yes/no prompt.
Anecdotally, I think this will cut at least 10-30% from my current keystrokes when I play a game, and that's always a good thing.
