SSH will complain about an invalid RSA host certificate (or sth. along those lines) after the reset and you have to manually delete the host from your list of known hosts locally. This is only a minor inconvenience, but maybe there is an easy fix for it. I guess saving /etc/ssh/ and moving it to the new VE might do the trick.
We could go further and let the user specify what files to preserve in a config file. Would be nice for personal config files or the panel_installer script.
