Enhancement requests: More field types or form controls #16

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

I'm not sure if this is the best place for feature requests so please remove if
it's not relevant.

These new field types would greatly enhance the power of Form-Model-Management
add-on
1) User browser field type to add user from the site to a metadata field
2) Content browser field type to attach files or link to a file
3) Rich text content area. Load default html editor for rich text editing
4) Fieldset grouping to group together a set of metadata fields for
presentation purposes

This is certainly the place. The items you have identified are in the roadmap
for the next few months.

Thanks for your input. Its much appreciated!

Hi there,

Just to keep you updated i managed to get one of your items in the latest
release. In the form builder you can now add a HTML field type. This will use
TinyMCE for input and when rendered in the readonly view (previewing a
document) it injects the HTML into a div instead of an input field.

Release 1.3.3

For the file uploading I will be implementing the SWFUpload jQuery plugin. I
have used this before and is much more reliable than the YUI. The multi file
uploader will create documents and associate them with the document in focus.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the HTML editor area. I was able to input HTML into the metadata.
However, there is a minor bug with this HTML area in the advanced search
popup. The HTML area is grayed out and you can not enter text into this field
to search at all. Would be helpful to be able to search the data entered into
the HTML fields. Thanks.

Hi there,

Searching this type of field would be very disappointing to the end user. It
would be almost impossible to return any results because of the HTML markup.
There result would have to match the markup used when saving.

You would have to do more of a full content index/search. In which case you
would use document content for the metadata instead of putting this into a
property.
