I am tempted to wonder if the newest release, a kernel downgrade pinned to a ChromeOS release, fixes this. Run bash updatekernel.sh
again.
With the latest release and running bash updatekernel.sh, I am still receiving a black screen. Prior to trying the latest release I also reverted the Chromebook back to stock, after trying a few distros through the Mr.Chromebox script.
I receive a complete black screen upon attempting to boot from USB or microsd from the dev mode screen. I have tried CLI Ubuntu and Debian. I ran bash updatekernel.sh.
