Unfortunately this information isn't directly available from Comic Vine web 
API.  It is (sometimes) encoded in the Comic Book's name, but right now it is 
too difficult to parse that out of the name reliably.

Comic Vine is updating their web API sometime in the coming months.  If their 
updated API includes "format" information (Annual, TBP, King-Size, etc) then I 
will update the scraper to get this data.
