Advanced Features - Missing Alternate Series/Story Arc #394

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM:

Under Advanced you are able to select which data you would like to scrape from
CV. If you wish to not update a field 'unchecking' that field will allow you
to skip updating for that particular field.

However, you are unable to 'uncheck' or disable fields such as "Alternate
Series" and "Story Arc". In my chronologies, along with a lot of others, we
use the Alternate Series to group files and number them according to the
Alternate Number. This process prevents us from 're-scraping' or denoting that
field prior to scraping.

WHAT STEPS WILL REPRODUCE THIS PROBLEM? (Please include the exact name of
the eComic book that you were trying to scrape, if possible.)

Not a comic specific issue, more a feature management issue as previously
described.

WHAT VERSION OF COMICVINESCRAPER ARE YOU USING?

*.184

PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT MAY BE OF USE

Overall the problem isn't high, it's more of a feature overlook than an actual
problem. It might be fairly simple to add or it might be infinitely more
complicated, I'm not sure. Currently I'm using a work around to Group by
Series Group, scrape, then Replace Alternate Name with Series Group. It's a
work around that is working, just sub-optimally. Thanks for your time.

Hi,

If you don't want to scrape the Alternate Series, just uncheck the "Crossovers"
option. (I'll leave this bug open to remind myself to change "Crossovers"
to "Alternate Series" , or at least figure out why I'm calling it something
different than what's displayed in ComicRack's info dialog...)

As far as "Story Arc" goes, the scraper does not populate that field, so that's
why there's no checkbox for that one.

Hope that helps.
