Hi licwid, We are aware of the numerous problems the extension has accumulated over the last few months. As of right now, the extension is no longer being maintained. You are welcome to address the issues and submit a pull request for any fixes you come up with.

Seems that when you uncheck the notifications for "when 'Still Listening?' dialog is skipped" then ads are not skipped, but get through. Recheck the box and the ads are again skipped. Just confirmed this with v1.4.3.
I'd like to help fix this bug and eventually submit a PR but I have no idea how to test a fix without sitting around and waiting for a commercial to come on Pandora.
Does anyone have any wisdom for artificially creating an 'audio ad' state on Pandora without waiting?
Alex,
Unfortunately we don't. I have a way to get one quicker, but not force it... And I can't even share that because its an open security bug (Pandora's request).
My suggestion is to manually force the values of the song information temporarily to be that of an audio ad so you can at least mimic it a bit.

I recently upgraded to Chrome Version 29.0.1547.76 m and have notice that Radio Enhancer is no longer skipping Pandora audio ads.
It is currently muting Video ads, however play never resume as it has actually paused the station. I can hit play and then click skip again to immediately go to the next song without an ad however.
