This feature has been added to Hatch. However, adding a metaform to all the documents in an existing collection (instead of at upload) can be a major performance drain if the collection contains large documents. Should this issue be marked as closed?

Not yet; we'll need to handle this correctly for the performance case. Not sure yet when we'll do it.
